The St. Andrew's School Archive collection is an on-going project aimed at preserving the school’s history. Edith M. Pell, wife of the school’s first headmaster Walden Pell, recognized the historical importance of archiving, as evidenced through her remarkable scrapbooks, in which all manner of bits and pieces of St. Andrean news, brochures, letters, and photographs had been collected. The further contributions of Bill Amos, Ellie Washburn, and Bob Moss to the SAS archival collections also cannot be overstated. In 1992 Alice M. Ryan became St. Andrew’s first official archivist followed by Chester Baum. Today the school’s records are robust because of their collective efforts.
