Congratulations to alumna, Tilden Davis Arnold '10 on the publication of her memoir, Reassembled: Unlocking the Extraordinary Within. Tilden describes her realization of becoming an author this way: "For someone who loves words, I still haven't found the right ones to describe the feeling of seeing my creation for the first time, sitting in boxes, ready to find its way into hearts and hands." Beautifully written, Tilden tells the story of a not so easy childhood and the  sudden passing of her father. She goes into detail about how she managed her grieving process. Printed on the back cover of her book, "Reassembled reminds all readers that our worst life-shattering moments may actually reshape us into the most beautiful version of our truest selves."

While attending St. Andrew's, Tilden was a pivotal player on the field hockey, squash and lacrosse teams. She also played a significant role in the School's community service projects earning her the DyAnn Miller Community Service Award and Tilden continues to serve today. After SAS, Tilden attended the University of the South - Sewanee. In her senior year she volunteered on a service trip to Jamaica and later that same year to Guatemala and then Antigua; and this is where she discovered her faith and found her "extraordinary light beyond the darkness."

Former St. Andrew's English teacher Will Speers, wrote the following about Tilden's book: "Tilden's memoir affirms the paradox and nobility of the human condition; that we only discover ourselves and our purpose when we give up trying to control our world and destiny; that embracing our vulnerability actually strengthens our soul; and that by engaging with those around us, we transform our isolated existence into a community of hope and resolve. Her journey is the sinew of faith."
