The SAS librarians have selected their most recent favorite reads.

Noreen Tully chose Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. This book has been lauded as a masterpiece of narrative nonfiction. Tully states: "Completely engrossing, this history was new to me, as was the nature of further devious exploitations of America's Native peoples."

Jenn Wilson winnowed her choice down to Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese; a book that has been on many different lists during the Covid-19 pandemic (a Shelter in Place booklist for one). Wilson describes it as follows: "A compelling read about familial love, betrayal and forgiveness."

Lisa Myers chose Jesmyn Ward's Navigate Your Stars. While not as lengthy the other two selections, the book had a powerful effect. This was Ward's commencement address to Tulane University's Class of 2018.  Myers said, "This beautifully illustrated book speaks to the power of work, in addition to one's education."
