We've been taken with a series of photographs The New York Times published for the first time during Black History Month's centennial in 2016, which chronicle certain Black History moments from 1946 onward. The Cardinal has been the student newspaper of record since the School's earliest days; and beyond the goings-on at the School, articles from The Cardinal often have reflected our nation's historical moments. We wanted to examine where the NYT's historical photos and the history of St. Andrew's as reported by School journalists converged. Our Spotlight bulletin board display offers a view on that convergence.
The 2017 theme for Black History Month is "The Crisis in Black Education" - come browse our floor display for some historical perspective. You'll discover some good reading!
